มหาวิทยาลัย Northumbria แห่งเมือง Newcastle ซึ่งเป็นมหาวิทยาลัยที่มีชื่อเสียงและเป็นมหาวิทยาลัยที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในตอนเหนือของประเทศอังกฤษ ได้เปิดรับสมัครนักศึกษาที่จบการศึกษาในระดับมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6 จากประเทศไทยเข้าศึกษาต่อในระดับปริญญาตรี โดยนักเรียนที่มีผลการเรียนในเกณฑ์ดีจะสามารถเข้าเรียนปริญญาตรีได้โดยตรง โดยไม่ต้องผ่านการเรียนปรับพื้นฐาน* (International Foundation Study) โดยหลักสูตรปริญญาตรีของประเทศอังกฤษนั้นส่วนใหญ่จะใช้เวลาในการเรียนเพียง3 ปี
